How does the jaw crusher realize the adjustment of the insurance and the discharge port?
Jaw crusher thrust plate (also known as toggle plate), in addition to transmitting power to make the movable jaw plate swing back and forth, it also has a safety insurance function. Changing its length can also adjust the discharge port.
When an unbreakable object (such as iron balls, iron blocks, etc.) enters the crushing cavity of the jaw crusher, the rear thrust plate is used as the safety part of the crusher to protect the main components of the equipment from damage. The rear thrust plate is generally cast with cast iron as a whole, with a slot or several small holes in the middle to reduce its section strength; it can also be cast into two pieces and then connected with screws (or rivets) to form a combined thrust plate. When the unbreakable material enters the crushing cavity, the equipment is overloaded, and the huge crushing force is transmitted to the thrust plate, which causes the thrust plate to break or the screws of the combined thrust plate to shear, and the machine stops working, which plays a safety role.
With the continuous wear and tear of the tooth plate, the discharge port gradually becomes larger and the product becomes thicker. In order to obtain a qualified product size, the discharge port size needs to be adjusted regularly. There are two main methods for adjusting the discharge port:
(1) Gasket adjustment, that is, a set of gaskets is placed between the back of the support seat of the rear thrust plate and the rear wall of the frame, and the number of gaskets is increased or decreased or the thickness is changed to achieve the purpose of adjusting the discharge port. This method has compact structure and reliable adjustment. Large and medium jaw crushers use this adjustment method.
(2) Wedge adjustment is adjusted by two wedges placed between the rear seat of the thrust plate and the frame, which is suitable for small crushers.
